Small family restaurant with a lovely garden. The food is super tasty and authentic with grandmother at the helm in the kitchen. If you like to experience authentic Greek home cooking this is the place to visit. All materials used are produced by them or locally sourced leading to a delightful tasty experience. A hidden jem!

Authentic grandma kitchen with only products from her farm or from nearby. You can taste even homemade feta, very different taste than usual. The grandma is warm-hearted and joyful and the food is amazing. Great bread, I never ate this type, a must try. P.s. they should put her face as symbol of the restaurant to give an idea of the feeling she will give you!

If I could give 100 stars I would. This was the BEST MEAL and one of our best experiences during our vacation on Crete. This small but cozy place is like coming to Grandma's house. We came late, around 2pm, and Mama (that's what we called her) greeted us with warm hugs and kisses. She did not speak any English, and we do not speak Greek, but love is beyond words. She made us lamb with tomatoes- which was heavenly- the meat melting in the mouth, and perfectly seasoned. We also had a vegetable stew with egglant, zucchini and potato, and rice wrapped in cabbage leaf, and fire roasted sweet pepper drizzled with olive oil, and fresh whole grain bread. It was like a Christmas dinner, so perfect and served by this loving grandmother who was so kind and welcoming. For dessert, she served us fresh fruit, and a pastry with nuts and honey and a hint of licorice. And of course Raki! It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We look forward to returning.

My favorite restaurant experience in Greece. We were treated like family. We ordered the appetizers for two, local greens, and two lamb dinners and it was incredible. It’s the best lamb I’ve ever had. Most of the ingredients come from the farm you’re dining on and you can tell. Menus were in Greek, English and German. The restaurant building was built in 2019, so it’s practically new and has great bathrooms. They’ve got a play area set up for kids. We loved sitting on the covered patio and sipping wine that the owner made herself. If have access to a car on Crete, make the trip out to this restaurant. It made our whole trip to Greece a delight.

We had lunch on a Friday and dinner the Saturday after. On both occasions we had a variety of traditional Greek specialities for starters, which were delicious without exception. As a main dish we went with rabbit stifado, vegetarian moussaka and traditional greek meatballs. The menu is refreshingly short and may vary from day to day. The obligatory raki and dessert were of as excellent a taste and quality as the others dishes. The restaurant is family-run and the service is absolutely warm-hearted and altogether great. No doubt the best greek cuisine we have experienced so far.

Don’t be put off by the facade, embrace the delightful warm welcome, enjoy the home cooked food and the beautiful authenticity and joy that is on offer here. The tzatziki is second to none on the island the loukourmades doughnuts are devine! Cash only and be patient - mama runs this on her own (with the help of her trolley) so be patient and feel at home.

We visited the restaurant with a group of friends from France and UK. We all enjoyed the food and the hospitality. The food was amazing, traditional greek delicacies cooked on the fire. Nice family run restaurant. We will definitely eat there again in our next visit to the south of Crete.

This was fantastic experience. Everything from being welcomed and feeling like at home to having excellent local food. If you are in the area (e.g. visiting Phaistos), don’t miss this gem of Greek cuisine.
